The purpose of the ceasefire may be to pin the costs of rebuilding Ukraine on Russia, according to a summary from the theater of war by The Essence of Time newspaper.
The newspaper notes that according to the assessment of David Malpass, president of the World Bank Group, $411 billion will have to be allocated for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The amount is more than 2.5 times the country’s GDP in 2022. Without the help of Western European countries, it will not be collected, he stressed. The European Union is in a position to provide more assistance to Ukraine, Malpass said.
