Will moving industry into space become a solution to the Earth’s environmental problems?

Moving industrial production into space would be a real solution to the Earth’s ecological problems, analyst Sergey Aleksandrov wrote in his article for The Essence of Time newspaper, no. 529.

Aleksandrov notes that since the early 1970s, the West has tried to solve its environmental problems by moving the most energy-intensive and polluting industries to the Third World countries. He specifies that such a solution has only a temporary and local effect, since pollution will gradually spread throughout the Earth anyway.

“Therefore, only moving production into space – not just waste, there are such projects, but production as a whole – will be a real solution to environmental problems,” Aleksandrov writes.

The author emphasizes that such a space solution to Earth’s problems should remove all material restrictions on human growth and development. According to him, the real reduction of polluting industrial emissions can be obtained in 30-50 years after the start of a large-scale program to transfer production to space.
