The explosion in Belgorod injured three people, Belgorod region’s governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on his Telegram Channel on April 21.

“Regarding yesterday’s explosions in the city of Belgorod. Three people were injured,” Gladkov wrote.

According to the governor, one of the victims was diagnosed with a closed traumatic brain injury. The second victim, according to Gladkov, was an elderly woman whose blood pressure spiked due to the incident. “She was taken to the hospital and is now under medical care,” the Belgorod region’s governor wrote. Another person, Gladkov noted, refused to be taken to the hospital.

“Thank God there were no fatalities,” the governor stressed.

Gladkov also said that the city authorities decided to reinsure themselves and resettled residents from the affected three-floor, nine-story building. According to the governor of the Belgorod region, an examination of the state of bearing structures of the house will be carried out soon. After that, the corresponding documentation will be drawn up in order “to start reconstruction works as soon as possible.”

An explosion rocked Belgorod on April 20. As a result, a crater with a radius of 20 meters formed in the city.

On April 20, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the explosion occurred due to an “abnormal descent of an aircraft munition” from a Su-34. The Defense Ministry stated that an investigation into the incident was launched.
