For Russia, the main threat is its pro-Western elite, which is not a fifth column, but it is the core of the existing system, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in an interview to the Metametrica channel published on March 25.
The political scientist answered a question of the hosts whom ex-secretary of state Hillary Clinton addresses when she demands that President of Russia Vladimir Putin must be “stopped.”
“She addresses what our supreme commander-in-chief called ‘the fifth column.’ And which is actually not a fifth column. This is not a fifth column, this is a form of how the society is organized, which is part of the system that the supreme commander-in-chief built himself,” Kurginyan explained.
According to Kurginyan, this part of the system consists of members of the elite who over 30 years were encouraged to connect their lives with the West, to move their families, business, and capital there, to acquire real estate and acquaintances there, and to believe that all this was good. What such an elite member should feel and think when Putin suddenly tells him, “You will have your mouth full of dust,” the political scientist wonders.
Part of the elite heard Putin, and they began to withdraw their money to Russia. And another part, according to Kurginyan, became indignant, “How come? (…) What will be next?”
Bewilderment and indignation among this part of the elite is inevitable, the expert believes. And this is exactly this part of the pro-Western elite that Clinton addresses.
“You are under external control, you have been building this external control over 30 years in various forms, and I know you in and out. What do you want? Do you all want to get to Abu Ghraib? All at once? Go on and do what you should do yourselves, quickly!” Kurginyan described the essence of the former secretary of state’s address.
Clinton is speaking to the fifth column the way Nikita Mikhalkov’s character in the film Station for Two, “Quickly, quickly, yourself, yourself.” “Remove him yourselves,” this is the Clinton’s message to our elite, the philosopher stressed.
