Russian President Vladimir Putin and the ruling elite will not turn away in a confrontation with the West because there are no other options. All the rest leads to death, said philosopher, political analyst, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement, Sergey Kurginyan in an interview with Vyacheslav Manucharov on the YouTube channel of Manuchi Empathy program, published on March 13.
Kurginyan is sure that Putin will go all the way for three reasons. First, he is not Gorbachev and won’t bring in troops first and then withdraw them later on.
“Well, you can see that he is different. A different grit, a different view. He himself always said he got his real upbringing on the streets. People don’t turn away like that in the streets,” the political scientist is sure.
Secondly, according to Kurginyan, he simply has nowhere to turn back to. And if one accepts the conditions of the West, this will mean death not only for Putin but also for the entire ruling elite – and this is the third reason.
Kurginyan pointed out how the Russian president brilliantly managed to make the process irreversible for the whole power hierarchy. The political analyst recalled the shameful retreat and giving up of the liberated territories in Kharkov and Kherson regions.
“All the retreats near Kharkov – it was something just indescribably bad. Already with Kherson it was a little different, never mind. Well, they gave back big territories, what to say? There is no need to ponder that this is a ‘brilliant military strategy’,” Kurginyan said.
Therefore, holding referendums on the accession of the territories of Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to Russia, according to the political scientist, was a genius decision.
“I’m talking about genius exactly political, and no one has canceled any Machiavelli, and the concept of what a statesman is and how it is all done in a proper way. So, it was done in such a way that they all just opened their mouths. Because they all signed themselves up for it, and it became irreversible. It made the process irreversible,” Kurginyan said.
