At the battlefront, supporters of the Soviet project and religious people have no differences because they are united by a common idea, Anton Novikov, a hereditary doctor, trauma surgeon and oncologist, said in an interview with the Essence of Time newspaper on 4 March.

Novikov went to the war front as a volunteer after the start of the special operation in Ukraine. He shared his observations during his service. In particular, the doctor said that among the Russian servicemen there are many people of different nationalities, religions and beliefs, but they are all united by the idea of social justice.

At the front there are indeed many supporters of the Soviet project, to which, by the way, I also include myself. Their notion of social justice is perfectly compatible with the Orthodox and Muslim faiths. I’ve never seen such unity of different people before“, Novikov said.

The volunteer said he heard residents of Mariupol talking about their meeting with the Russian soldiers. According to him, when they were sitting in the basement and heard “Allahu Akbar,” they thought, “Well, thank God, it’s our boys!

Novikov specified that at the same time as his soviet views, he is Orthodox. That said, he served with a paramedic who was a staunch atheist, but there was no disagreement between them during the entire service.
