Cuba began to implement the Russian payment system “Mir”, hoping in the future to increase the flow of tourists from Russia, said Advisor for Tourism of the Cuban Embassy in Russia Christina Leon Iznaga on March 3, Interfax informed.
“Work is underway in Cuba to launch the ‘Mir’ payment system, this will make it easier for Russian tourists to pay by card for services, buy gifts and souvenirs,” León Iznaga said.
According to her, Cuban authorities attach great importance to increasing the flow of tourists from Russia and seek to create conditions for it.
Earlier the Cuban authorities planned to launch “Mir” payment system by the end of the last year.
