Russia’s main card to play in its global struggle for leadership is love, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on the program Conversation with a Sage published on February 10 on the YouTube channel of the Zvezda radio station.
The political scientist expressed confidence that the anti-Western game that Russia began with its special operations is now forever. He made a special note, however, that the Russian game cannot be simply anti-Western, it must be original, with our own rules and cards.
“Russia’s card to play is neither communism nor monarchism. Russia’s card is love,” Kurginyan said.
The philosopher cited the First Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”
Kurginyan stressed that love is not something of minor importance or an empty word. This is a kind of love that Fyodor Tyutchev spoke about in his reply to Otto von Bismarck, “‘Unity‘, an oracle of our century has said, / ‘Can only be welded by iron and blood.’ Well, we’ll try welding it with love. Let’s see which lasts the longer.”
The analyst noted that the love that Paul the Apostle and Tyutchev are talking about implies integrity that is typical of the Russian people, and a new, different thinking. The Apostle’s epistle says about this new thinking: when he was an infant he thought as an infant, but when he became a man he left everything infant’s to think differently, holistically, Kurginyan explained.
“The Russians have something to say about integrity. Something can be borrowed from the Soviet heritage, something elsewhere, and something should be taken from the future, from the universe, from the winds of history over our heads. And if we take all this, then we will certainly win on the global scale, because the eternal mission of the Russians is to be a historical country, but not a cyclical one as many other countries, and to be an alternative to the West at the same time,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement concluded.
