19.02.2023, Munich.

Anton Hofreiter, Chair of the Committee on European Affairs of the German Bundestag,  criticized the Ukrainian government’s demand for supplying phosphorus and cluster munitions to the Ukrainian armed units,  NTV reported on February 18.

Hofreiter noted that Ukraine wants everything. “Just because they ask for something does not mean it has to be implemented,” the politician said, adding that he believes this demand is a mistake.

The Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly pointed out that the Ukrainian armed units is using weapons banned by international conventions. In particular, they use phosphorus-containing shells for D-30 howitzers and Grad rockets.

Earlier, the Russian military said that on the morning of February 16, the Ukrainian armed units used an unknown poisonous substance in the Ugledar direction.
