The prospect of a strategic partnership between Russia and Saudi Arabia was pointed out by Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Sergey Kozlov in an interview with RIA Novosti on February 12.
He said that the way to this level of trust “is a regular and trustworthy dialogue at the highest level,” which Moscow is already conducting with Riyadh. According to the diplomat, this allows to “synchronize watches” on key issues and reminded that the heads of the states held four telephone conversations in 2022 and have already managed to hold a telephone dialogue in 2023.
Earlier the USA criticized Saudi Arabia’s decision to reduce the volume of oil production. Washington said it planned to review relations with Riyadh so that they would eventually “promote the interests” of the US.
