Milliyet: The Ukrainian crisis is a US project they are profiting from

The conflict in Ukraine is a US project that benefits from it in terms of arms sales, Turkish Milliyet columnist Tunca Bengin wrote in an article published on the newspaper’s website on February 6.

According to him, the US is ready to herald a real catastrophe, despite the threat of war spreading across Europe.

“So the US, watching from afar, must be rubbing its hands cheerfully. Because the more Europe is involved in the conflict with Russia, the more it becomes dependent on the United States. And this is very profitable for the USA, especially in terms of advertising of airplanes, air defense systems and weapons,” the journalist wrote.

Bengin believes that for the United States NATO is not just a military bloc, but also an organization that meets its economic interests. It is a kind of “banknote printing house of the United States.”

“There is a concept: war for money, money for war. This is how the wheel of military conflict turns,” Bengin quotes retired Brigadier General Naim Baburoglu as saying.

The military officer noted that the United States is home to 12 of the world’s largest military companies and about 40 percent of the world’s arms sales come from the United States.

“They don’t want less. With the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, which is a US scenario and project, the USA is breaking records in arms sales,” Baburoglu said, adding that the USA is using NATO for money.

“The USA will get times more or is already getting. Let’s say Poland or Germany gave Ukraine weapons, tanks… Then they buy tanks from the States and want US tanks themselves, they say, more modern. They buy for money, of course, not for free,” the general noted, stressing that US security talk is directly related to money.

Russia announced many times that the military bloc of NATO was aimed at confrontation and expressed concern about the buildup of forces in Europe. Furthermore, Moscow also stressed that Western military assistance to Ukraine would not do any good.
