Kremlin Press Secretary praises initiative to reward Russian soldiers for burned Abrams

Rewards for burned tanks supplied by the US and Europe to Ukrainian troops will encourage the Russian military to destroy them even more, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on February 1.

He praised the initiative of Aleksandr Osipov, head of the Zabaykalsky Krai, who promised to pay Russian soldiers a bonus of 3 million rubles for capturing enemy tanks in Ukraine.

“As for all these tanks, as we have already said, they will be burned, of course, and all the more so if there are such incentive measures,” Peskov said.

He also noted that similar offers of rewards also come from various commercial organizations, which once again shows the unity of the people and their desire for each citizen of the country “to the extent possible to contribute, one way or another, directly or indirectly, to the course of the special military operation and the achievement of the main objectives.”

However, Peskov stressed that there are no deliveries of Abrams and Leopards yet. In all likelihood, this is due to the need to prepare for their use.
