The Ukrainian authorities, headed by President Vladimir Zelenski, started an active cleansing of the political space nine months before the elections to the Verkhovna Rada [Ukrainian Parliament – translator’s note], effectively establishing a police dictatorship in the country, said Aleksandr Malkevich, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation and head of the Department of Journalism and Media Communications at Kherson University, TASS reported on February 1.
Commenting on the searches and recent dismissals of officials in Ukraine, he recalled that parliamentary elections to the Rada are to be held in October 2023. “Zelenskyy and his entourage are systematically cleansing the political space for the elections,” Malkevich said.
He said that people are being fired from the presidential administration, some ministers will soon have to leave their positions, and searches were conducted today.
“Ukraine has an absolutely fascist police dictatorship,” Malkevich said.
He believes that everything will be cleaned under the guise of the fight against corruption. All dissenters and even those who are under the slightest suspicion of their one hundred percent loyalty to the authorities will be removed.
“Another warning to those who thought that Zelensky is a democrat. This makes no sense,” the expert said, noting that a large number of instructors from the United States are operating in the country, in fact, there is “direct US control.” That’s why everyone who could have had any influence on Zelensky is being removed.
He believes that the elections in Ukraine will be a hand-picked election to parliament. Then a scenario will be implemented with deputies appealing to Zelensky on behalf of the people so that he stays on for a second term.
On 1 February, the SBU [Ukrainian Security Service] searched the house of oligarch Igor Kolomoysky.
