France has no taboo on supplying fighting airplanes to Ukraine. Still, the decision has not been made yet, said French Minister of Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu at a joint press conference with the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Aleksey Reznikov on January 31.
The French representative answered journalists’ questions regarding the deliveries of fighting airplanes to Ukraine and the training of Ukrainian pilots.
“As we have already said, there is no taboo for us in this matter. Nevertheless, no official decision has been made yet,” Lecornieu said.
The day before, French President Emmanuel Macron said that France has not yet received requests from Kiev for the supply of aircraft, and therefore did not consider such possibility. Macron also said that all talks about France supplying Ukraine with airplanes are rumors.
