Putin: Many countries avoid investigating Nazi atrocities

At a meeting with Russian Chief Rabbi, Berl Lazar, and President of the Federation of Jewish Communities, Alexander Broda, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed regret that the leadership of many countries is avoiding cooperation in investigating Nazi crimes. The meeting took place on January 26.

The Russian leader reiterated that Russia has not stopped working to identify all crimes of Nazism committed against citizens of any nationality of the former USSR, including Jews.

However, according to the President, “unfortunately, under various pretexts, many countries avoid working in solidarity in this important area.” Putin made assurances that this work will continue in Russia “regardless of the current political situation.
