Kurginyan: Everyone will have to choose sides in the era of the categorical imperative

20.01.2023, Moscow.

In the current situation, everyone will have to choose a side, said political scientist, philosopher, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on January 14 in a speech at the organization’s conference in Moscow.

According to him, in the situation of an ongoing war, which lacks certainty, it becomes necessary to define the enemy.

“Now we are talking about the urgent need to name those people who stand on the opposing side both – enemies of the state, and enemies of the people, and enemies of humanity too, because the West and its henchmen are headed for a disastrous future, openly calling it a post-human era,” said Kurginyan.

The philosopher noted that he had made up his mind on this issue long before releasing the series of the Essence of Time programs, and had not moved an inch in terms of changing his view in the subsequent period of time, and became even more determined during the so-called special military operation.

According to him, even the most terrible imperfections of Russian reality will not motivate him to change his opinion, which could be considered as maxima in a metaphysical way and in the way the world is viewed. He noted that maxima is absolute, and that the great German philosopher Immanuel Kant called such a phenomenon the categorical imperative.

“We are objectively at the beginning of an era of such a categorical imperative. And, ultimately, everyone will have to choose a side,” said the philosopher.

According to him, “when we become determined – those who yesterday could still be our opponents, and today become not just our enemies, but the enemies of our country and humanity, they will become determined too.”
