Advisor to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Igor Kimakovsky confirmed the serious advance of Russian troops near Artemovsk on January 12 on the air of Solovyov Live.
“The artillery is really suppressing the enemy forces today, in some areas they cannot even get out of the trenches. This is now evident in the Donetsk direction as well, the number of attacks on the city has decreased. This indicates that our troops are beginning to work more effectively. That is why we have certain advances on Avdeevka direction, we have serious progress in the Artemovsk area,” he said.
The Russian Defense Ministry earlier reported that airborne troops blocked Soledar from the north and south, and assault units are fighting in the city itself. According to the DPR acting head Denis Pushylin, opportunities for liberating Artemovsk have improved manifold.
