Chairman of Russia State Duma: We will adhere to the principle of reciprocity in the seizure of assets

05.01.2023, Moscow.

Asset seizure is a reciprocal process, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin wrote on January 5 on his Telegram channel in response to reports about Germany’s readiness to seize frozen Russian assets.

“As soon as such a decision is implemented, we have the right to take similar actions with regard to assets of Germany and other states,” the deputy wrote.

The Chairman of the State Duma recalled the recent confession of former leaders of Germany and France about the deception of the international community on the issue of the Minsk agreements. Western politicians reported that the agreements, which were guaranteed by their countries, were fake from the very beginning. Their goal was to buy time for the Kiev regime to prepare for military action against Donbass and Crimea.

According to Bloomberg, the German government is actively discussing the seizure of previously frozen Russian assets to restore Ukraine. The German authorities are considering options for both seizing the assets of Russian citizens and seizing the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia.
