Russian Senator names places where leading powers may start war

02.01.2022, Moscow.

A conflict involving the world’s leading powers may be triggered by developments in Ukraine, Taiwan and the Korean peninsula, Russian Senator Aleksey Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel on January 2.

“Ukraine, Taiwan and the Korean Peninsula are three places where developments could provoke a military conflict involving the world’s leading powers,” the senator wrote in a message.

Pushkov said that among the three options, Ukraine remains the most likely point where the conflict may begin.

He added that the past conflict, which took place on the territory of Syria, was no longer on the list of countries from which a global conflict between world powers could unfold, because “the United States and its allies had to retreat” from there.
