DPR issues souvenir sheet and envelope dedicated to the anniversary of foundation of the USSR

State Unitary Enterprise Post Donbass put a souvenir sheet and an envelope dedicated to the anniversary of the Soviet Union’s foundation into circulation in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Donetsk News Agency (DAN) informed on December 29.

The press service said that the souvenir sheet consisted of 15 stamps, the number of Soviet Socialist Republics that were part of the USSR. All stamps of the sheet are made in the same style: on the background of the flag of the corresponding republic in the lower left corner of the stamp is the coat of arms of the republic and the name of its capital, and in the right side – the memorable places and buildings of the republic.

According to the press service, the stamp dedicated to the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic shows one of the towers of the Moscow Kremlin and the Ivan the Great Bell Tower, the stamp dedicated to the Ukrainian SSR shows the Golden Gate and the monument to the founders of Kiev.

3000 souvenir sheets were issued, the price of each stamp is 57 cent, the price of the whole block is 8.5 dollars.

On the left side of the envelope, there is a map of the USSR, and below the map is the inscription “The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. 100 years”. The first two verses of the Soviet Union anthem are printed on the back of the envelope. 3000 envelopes were issued which costs  47 cents each.

On December 30, 1922, the First All-Union Congress of Soviets adopted the Declaration and Treaty on the Formation of the USSR, which proclaimed the foundation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
