Due to a lack of understanding among economists that money cannot solve problems, many important problems are not solved at all, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on November 5 on the Saturday Mardan program on the Solovyov LIVE channel.
“Those who manage our economy today firmly believe that money is a self-sufficient and absolute factor capable of producing anything they want,” the political scientist noted.
Kurginyan believes that this is wrong, and that a huge number of really urgent problems are solved differently, not with money. He noted that this is the difference between the Russian and the Anglo-Saxon way to solve problems: within the European way of production, circulation, i.e. the money, matters. Within the Asian way of production, to which we belong, it is not the circulation of funds that matters, but communication, which cannot be transformed into the kingdom of the amount, the philosopher explained.
“The lack of understanding that money cannot resolve all problems is what dominates the entire post-Soviet life,” Kurginyan stressed.
He explained that it became a norm to solve issues using money, which in turn not only resulted in bribery, kickbacks, and other illegal activities, but it also made a majority of problems simply impossible to resolve. He also explained the role of the plan and the planned economy in this context.
“What is the plan? Why does the plan always exist and why is it necessary? Because the plan transforms everything into natural equivalents. You have planned certain number of tanks, not that we gave you certain money and you reported, but you have to report with the products according to the plan. Furthermore, you have a planned task, and if you fail to fulfill it, if you fail to produce the planned number of weapons, you go to prison. Because you accepted the planned task!” Kurginyan said.
He believes that the planned command-and-control system cannot be contraposed to the market-based system. According to Kurginyan, this is similar to the human central nervous system, without which you would be unable to move a finger, and the autonomic system.
“We need both. It is no sense to give planned targets to steakhouses, but they need to be given where military equipment is produced,” Kurginyan stressed.
