Russian Foreign Ministry: UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence is insane

17.10.2022, Moscow.

The words of the UN Special Representative Pramila Patten about Russian military servicemen are beyond common sense, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on October 17 in an official statement on the Ministry’s website.

“Her words are beyond common sense,” Zakharova commented on the Special Representative’s statement.

Maria Zakharova commented on Patten’s report about the sexual abuse of Ukrainians allegedly committed by servicemen of the Russian army. Patten accused the Russian army of sexual assaults against Ukrainians using medical drugs as a “military strategy.”

Zakharova also noted that Patten relied on fragmentary information, which is hard to check, according to Patten herself.

“In other words, we have a traditional ‘highly likely’ again, but at the level of a perverted fantasy this time,” the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.

Zakharova explained that this was not the first time such provocative statements are made. The Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman reminded false reports by Ukrainian ex-ombudswoman Lyudmila Denisova who later admitted that she made them up for Western funds and arms.

“As a result, as we remember, the Kiev regime dismissed Denisova for her blatant anti-Russian lies that misled the entire international community,” Zakharova reminded.

The same methods of informational and psychological war were also used in Libya, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman reminded. In 2011, Reuters journalists wrote that troops loyal to the Libyan ex-leader Muammar Gaddafi committed rapes using medical drugs.

“As we can see, the West again uses the same patterns in its hybrid war,” the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.
