Lukashenko: NATO countries consider options to attack Belarus

10.10.2022, Minsk.

NATO and a number of European countries are considering options to attack Belarus, said President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko on October 10 at a meeting with the directors of the security services.

He said that, in the context of a rapidly changing situation, it is necessary to understand what should be done to ensure national security. Lukashenko stressed that the situation remains tense, and the West is forcing the opinion that the Belarusian army will “enter the special military operation directly on the Ukrainian territory.”

“Under the influence of these fakes, the military and political leaders of the North Atlantic alliance and a number of European countries are considering options of potential aggression against our country up to a nuclear strike,” he said.

According to Lukashenko, the West’s long-held and main objective is not to keep Belarus out of the conflict in Ukraine and not to avoid a nuclear strike, but to draw Belarus in “and besides to deal with Russia and Belarus.”

At the meeting, Lukashenko also said that he had previously come to an agreement with President of Russia Vladimir Putin about the deployment a joint regional group of troops.
