The main goal of US sanctions is to weaken Europe, associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation Valery Andrianov said on October 7 in a report for the InfoTEK analytical center.
“It is [Europe], which has advanced technologies, accumulated competencies and high production standards, that acts as the main competitor of the US economy,” Andrianov noted.
According to the expert, the first priority of Washington is the weakening of Europe by cutting off access to cheap energy sources.
“Launching a sanctions war against Russia does not however imply that cheap Iranian will go to Europe,” Andrianov explained.
