The aim of the Ukrainian unit that landed at night near Energodar was to seize the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, a member of the main council of the military and civil administration of the Zaporozhye region Vladimir Rogov said on September 9.
According to Rogov, a Ukrainian army unit landed near Energodar, but could not gain a foothold because it was suppressed and destroyed.
This is not the first time the Ukrainian army command has attempted to seize the Zaporozhye NPP using small landing parties. On the night of August 31 to September 1, on the eve of the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency arrival, there was an attempt to land troops, but it failed. The next attempt to land troops from speedboats was made on the night of September 2 to 3, but it was also unsuccessful.
