Chinese Foreign Ministry announces intention to promote multipolarity together with Russia

08.09.2022, Vladivostok.

China together with Russia will further promote multipolarity in the world, spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Mao Ning said at a briefing during the 7th Eastern Economic Forum on September 8.

“China will continue to work with the international community, including Russia, to jointly promote a multipolar world, economic globalization and democratization of international relations,” Ning said.

The Chinese diplomat made her statement while commenting on the Russian president’s words on strengthening the role of Asia-Pacific countries in the system of international relations.

China and the Russian Federation, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, have always firmly defended the international system and the international order based on international law, Ning said.

According to Ning, “arbitrary unilateral sanctions” imposed by some countries that trample on international law and the UN charter are a serious blow to the world’s political and economic order.

Earlier, on September 7, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Li Zhanshu said that the West has failed to crush Russia’s economy. He said that China was ready to help develop the infrastructure and economy of the Russian Far East.
