Kurginyan explains the consequences of trade pivoting towards Asia

30.05.2022, Moscow.

The pivot towards Greater Asia cannot be implemented solely at the level of transport infrastructure, said philosopher, political scientist, leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on May 24 during the broadcast of the Great Game program on Channel One.

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on this issue at a meeting devoted to the development of transport industry and its certain sectors. The President spoke about Russia’s adaptation to the rapid changes in the system of international economic relations and the development of a new transport infrastructure. According to him, this should lead to its expansion in the eastern direction.

“We are making a sharp turn towards so-called reliable partnerships in Greater Asia. And where else? And this shift cannot be carried out only on the level of trade routes. However, trade routes are the most important thing. Along with that come new logistics, a new infrastructure, new connections and new directions for further development,” said Kurginyan.

According to the political scientist, Russia has to win the first round in the era of confrontation with the West with the existing economic system, because if you start feverishly rebuilding everything now, breaking the existing order, you will only make it worse.

“The president said that a new order is emerging parallel to the system that existed for the last thirty years. And its foundation is transport: we are building transportation routes and new cities will arise along them,” noted Kurginyan.
