The Immortal Regiment rally was held in the Spanish capital, several hundred people came out to the commemorative event, Rossa Primavera News Agency reports on May 8.
“The Immortal Regiment procession in Madrid was held for the seventh time in a calm, festive atmosphere. We should thank all Russian citizens, Spanish organizations, the Spanish government and the police for making this march possible,” the organizers of the event said.
The rally on the central street Atocha in Madrid was mostly peaceful. A provocateur with a Ukrainian flag tried to break into the march, but the police stopped his actions.
The columns of the Immortal Regiment in Madrid marched to the Soviet military songs and the “Holy War,” which the participants of the procession sang together.
Russian Ambassador in Madrid Yury Korchagin congratulated them on the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
