The DPR forces completely liberated the village of Troitskoye, which was under the control of the Ukrainian army, the DPR People’s Militia press service reported on May 5.
The village was reportedly “mopped up from neo-Nazis and Kiev fighters” by the First Separate Mechanized Battalion of the Territorial Defense of the DPR with the support of special forces.
It is also reported that Troitskoye is still subject to regular shelling from the Ukrainian army’s positions located in Novoselovka and Novogorodskoye (in 2021 the village was renamed New York by a decision of the Verkhovna Rada). According to the People’s Militia, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are deliberately firing at the residential facilities of the settlement.
