Director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service: Poland plans to return its "historical possessions" in Ukraine

28.04.2022, Moscow.

Poland and the United States jointly are working out plans to establish military and political control over part of Ukraine’s territories, the Director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin said. The press bureau of the agency informed about this on April 28.

Data received by the SVR suggests that Washington and Warsaw are preparing to establish control over Poland’s “historical possessions” on Ukrainian territory.

The first stage of “reunification” will imply the invasion of Polish troops into the western regions of Ukraine to “protect them from Russian aggression.” Together with the US, the modality of this campaign is being worked out. According to preliminary agreements, it will not be backed by a NATO mandate, but it will involve “willing states,” which has not yet been determined.

The Polish security agencies are searching for “agreeable” Ukrainian elites in order to form a future pro-Polish “democratic” opposition to Ukrainian nationalists. The Polish party assumes that entrenchment in the west of Ukraine with a high degree of probability will provoke a split of the country, and “Polish peacekeepers” will enter the regions captured by Poland.

After World War I, the Entente coalition already recognized Poland’s right to occupy parts of Ukraine to protect its population from the “Bolshevik threat” with the consequent incorporation of these lands into Poland.
