Political scientist: USA seeks to ruin other countries’ economies

18.04.2022, Moscow.

Entanglement between the countries in the global economy is very high, and this is why USA’s policy of undermining other countries affects the USA itself, said Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategic Studies and Predictions of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia Viktoriya Fedosova on April 18 on the Belarus 1 channel.

The expert commented the West’s unprecedented sanction pressure on Russia and Belarus. The deputy director of the Russian institute noted that the USA’s blows on the other economies have a detrimental effect on the US economy as well.

“The United States, due to the nature of its economy, will seek to drain and ruin other regions’ economies. Similarly to the Marshall Plan, it is aimed at ruining Europe today, which experiences a consumer, food, and energy crisis. This is how the USA is trying to find an accommodation for its money, unused liquidity, and its products while supporting its own manufacturers. However, the entanglement in the global economy is deep. The Western supervisors failed to take this into account, and now they have negative consequences,” Fedosova said.

On February 24, Russia began a military special operation in Donbass for the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. To neutralize Ukrainian army’ response, the Russian army used high-precision weapons against its military infrastructure. Military storages, airbases, and control centers were destroyed.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in his video address stressed that civil infrastructure was not among the targets of the Russian army, and the civilians in Ukraine were not under threat. The Russian leader urged the Ukrainian servicemen to lay down their arms and go home. Putin stressed that Russia did not plan to occupy the Ukrainian territory.

After the special operation began, the West imposed unprecedented sanctions on Russia, and Moscow in response imposed anti-Western sanctions.
