The Ukrainian army struck a military hospital in Melitopol with a Tochka-U ballistic missile on March 17, surgeon Roman Nezhilov said on April 14, RIA Novosti reported.
“March 17 will be our hospital’s second birthday, because the hospital was essentially the target of tht Tochka-U attack, as we learned afterwards. Almost the entire territory of the hospital was hit by mortars,” Nezhilov told.
According to him, after the explosion two wounded soldiers from a rear unit located near the medical facility were brought to the hospital. One had to have his legs amputated and the other had a penetrating shrapnel wound to the chest, but the doctors managed to save him.
Despite the explosions, the hospital staff continued to work, Nezhilov stressed.
The missile that struck the hospital is reported to have the serial number Sh91536 . Previously, the Ukrainian military used missiles of this series hitting Khartsysk, Alchevsk and Logvinovo. Moreover, on April 8, a missile of this series was used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to hit the railway station in Kramatorsk, killing 50 people and injuring 87.
