Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs names who ordered the video provocation about the victims in Bucha

05.04.2022, Moscow.

The speed of response of Western politicians to the situation in Bucha leaves no doubt as to the source of the provocation, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 3 on the air of the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program.

The mere fact that these statements [by representatives of the countries of the collective West] were made just in the first minutes after these materials had appeared leaves no doubt who ordered this story,” Zakharova said.

She also drew attention to the fact that the conclusions about what had happened in Bucha were made by Western politicians on the basis of a short video and a small number of photographs. No more or less significant checks of extremely dubious information were carried out. “They made statements based only on video frames, literally minute-long video clips, even less than a minute, I think. And a few photos. And they are ready to assing blame. Experts did not work, they did not receive other information that could shed light on what had happened, but political statements have already been made, ”said the representative of the Foreign Ministry.

The point of one more crime of the Kiev regime is to disrupt peace talks and escalate violence,” Zakharova added, recalling that due to this incident, Russia requested a meeting of the UN Security Council.

The video in question shows the “bodies” of people allegedly shot by the Russian military during their retreat. After the publication of the video, Internet users noticed that the “corpses” moved their limbs when vehicles were approaching, which could run into them, and in the rear-view mirror it was noticeable how the “dead” came to life immediately after a car with a cameraman had driven past them.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the distributed materials are a provocation. During the time that Bucha was under the control of the Russian Armed Forces, none of the inhabitants of the city suffered from the actions of the Russian military. Moreover, Russia withdrew troops from Bucha on March 30, while the Ukrainian military entered the city only on April 3.
