Bulgarian sailors in Mariupol hope to be freed by Russians

04.04.2022, Moscow.

It is possible to evacuate sailors from the ship “Tzarevna” blocked in Mariupol, said Sevda Kaloyanova – colleague of the sailors working for the company-owner of the ship, Bulgarian National Radio reports on April 4.

17 Bulgarians and three Ukrainians are on board of the “Tzarevna.” .

Kaloyanova informs that according to the latest data, the sailors are feeling well, they have enough food and water. According to her, everything depends on whether Russia will take Mariupol under control:

“If they cpature the port, then Mariupol is completely under Russian control. As for the case of the ship “Tzarevna”, it is the best option, because if the Russians seize the port, they will let the ships go, as they did in Berdyansk port”.

Sevda Kaloyanova said that there has been no communication with her colleagues for a week, either the cellular network is lost or they are in a place where they have no cellular network coverage, in the sense that they do not go to the upper decks because it is not safe there. The company is trying to communicate with the captain, but this is confidential information.

Kaloyanova confirmed that they have communication with the ship’s captain, and in that sense all is well. What is written on various websites is fiction.

“In this case, all the accusations against the prime minister and the government that they do nothing, I’m sure they tried to do a lot, but they are just powerless, they cannot do anything, because those are from the Azov battalion (organization banned in Russia), they, I even think, they are not under Zelensky’s control,” Kaloyanova said.

“In the sense that they are acting arbitrarily. Green land corridor or blue sea corridor – even if the government on the Russian side agrees with the official Ukrainian side, they can sabotage it,” Sevda Kaloyanova added.
