Kurginyan: At the moment no agreement with Kiev is imaginable, even in an insane asylum

31.03.2022, Moscow.

The signing of any agreements under Kiev’s conditions, given the success of Russia’s operation to denazify Ukraine, is inconceivable even in a madhouse, philosopher, political analyst and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said during the Great Game program on the Channel One on March 29

Earlier, Russia and Ukraine held talks in Turkey, after which the head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinsky named the requirements put forward by official Kiev. The statements by Medinsky and his colleague in the negotiations, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Aleksandr Fomin, caused a great resonance in the Russian society.

In turn, a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the talks with the Russian Federation David Arakhamia noted after the meeting that on the issue of Ukraine’s refusal to recognize Crimea and the LPR and DPR “the position of Ukraine does not change,” and Kiev recognizes the international borders of Ukraine, that is, those “which were as of 1991.

“Let’s assume – I strongly reject this, but let’s assume – that everyone has gone mad in Russia and wants to sign something,” Kurginyan commented on the situation around Medinsky’s statements.

Why on earth? It is unclear, because the operation is under way, everything is going the way it should be,” he added.

According to the political scientist, Russia has no reason to sign any agreements on Ukrainian conditions, because the Russian armed forces are successfully carrying out a special operation for denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.

The following is unclear as well: let’s suppose – I say, only suppose, as in a madhouse – that everyone has gone crazy and decided to sign. What?” – Kurginyan wondered.

According to him, signing of any agreement with Kiev would require, among other things, refusing to recognize LPR and DPR, which would be political suicide for the Russian authorities.

In connection with the current situation, the political scientist stressed that the statements by Medinsky, who “voiced Ukrainian desires,” had the only effect: they created “some kind of panic,” because Russian society is “overheated,” that is, it is in a special emotional conditions.

And it is necessary to take into account therefore everything that is expressed and said there,” he noted, calling to abandon the hasty shouting on this subject and sort things out.

In addition, the political scientist reminded what exactly the goals of the Russian leadership, starting the operation in Ukraine: denazification and demilitarization, non-aligned status, the recognition of the Crimea and Donbass.
