Russian military aircraft and helicopters destroyed 51 Ukrainian military targets last night, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said at a briefing on March 25.

“Overnight, operational-tactical and army aviation hit 51 Ukrainian military facilities,” Konashenkov said.

According to him, as a result of the actions of the Russian Air Force, two enemy command posts, three multiple rocket launchers, two Buk M-1 surface-to-air missile systems and one S-300 radar for illumination and targeting near Dnepropetrovsk, three D-30 artillery pieces, two warehouses of rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition, and 26 areas where military equipment was amassed were destroyed.

In addition, a group of “night hunters” consisting of Ka-52 and Mi-28N helicopters destroyed 24 pieces of Ukrainian military equipment, including seven tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) and three armored personnel carriers (APCs) during night strikes.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The goal of the operation is the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. At the same time, the Russian leader stressed that the military occupation of Ukraine is ruled out. The Russian military department also said that Russian troops do not strike peaceful cities.
