Over 400,000 residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, as well as Ukraine, arrived in Russia, TASS reported on March 24 with reference to emergency services.
“A total of 402,000 people have been evacuated to Russia from the territory of Donbass and Ukraine, including more than 84,000 children,” the emergency services said.
In the past 24 hours alone, about 18,000 people arrived in Russia. Over 342,000 people were evacuated from the territory of the People’s Republics, about 50,000 people arrived from the territory of Ukraine through border checkpoints in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk regions, as well as in the Republic of Crimea.
The evacuation from the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics began on February 18, before the special operation of demilitarization and denazification on the territory of Ukraine.
