“It was a crematorium.” Photo reportage from liberated Shchastye

The town of Schastye was liberated by the LPR People’s Militia from Ukrainian Nazi armed formations on February 28.

Schastye is a strategically important town. The 1,360-megawatt Lugansk thermal power plant is situated here. In 2003, the Lugansk thermal power plant was included in the list of strategically important facilities of Ukraine, which was guarded by units of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Kiev regime built an administrative services center near the former Ukrainian checkpoint of Schastye. The facility allegedly showed a level of concern for the fate of LPR residents.

In the building, among the scattered forms for administrative services, there are EU and UN symbols. Propaganda literature by Ukrainian Nazis from the so-called “Patriots of Donbass” media group was also found there. The logo of the organization is similar to the Mirotvorez website.

The official website of this media group states that their activities are intended to inform the population of Ukraine about Russia’s “aggression” as well as to collect information “about the accomplices of Russian aggression and war criminals in your city.”

200 meters from the center there is a destroyed residential building. It was damaged as a result of an attempt by Ukrainian Nazis to regain control of the town of Schastye.

Nina Savchenko, a resident of the burned-out house, miraculously managed to survive. She told Rossa Primavera News Agency about the events that took place on that day.

She stressed in her story that the house was damaged as a result of shelling by Ukrainian militants. According to her, on the eve of the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Ukrainian punitive forces, who conducted provocations on the contact line, were deployed between the residential houses.

According to an employee of the LPR Ministry of Emergency Situations, the remains of only three people who were in the basement were found under the rubble of the house. “There are very few remains. It’s a crematorium. Three weeks later, when they were shoveled, it [what is left of the house] was still burning,” stressed the rescuer.
