Russian Defense Ministry: 16,400 civilians evacuated to Russia in a day

20.03.2022, Moscow.

The Russian Armed Forces have, over the last 24 hours, ensured the evacuation of more than 16,400 civilians from dangerous areas of Ukraine to Russia, including the evacuation of 2,389 children. Director of the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev reported this on March 20.

He also added that during the operation, more than 330,600 people left Ukraine for Russia, including 68,983 children. More than 38.5 thousand personal cars crossed the border between Russia and Ukraine.

It is noted that the Kiev regime and neo-Nazi armed formations are preventing the evacuation of civilians through the humanitarian corridors provided. Ukrainian neo-Nazis are hiding in cities and towns use civilians as human shields.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, more than 4.5 million people are in a similar situation in Ukrainian cities controlled by neo-Nazis.

The Russian special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine is aimed to stop the Kiev regime’s atrocities against the Russian population of Ukraine and the residents of Donbass. The Kiev regime’s war crimes throughout the eight years of Kiev’s aggression against the eastern regions were ignored by Western countries, which supplied weapons and military instructors to Ukraine to foment the conflict.
