Russian troops eliminated 93 Ukrainian militants who had escaped from Mariupol after changing into civilian clothes. Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, said this at a briefing on March 18.

“Tonight 93 of them have been eliminated, the locations of the rest have been established by radio intercepts. The question of their elimination is a matter of short time,” said Mizintsev.

He also said that during the last two days 150 to 200 Ukrainian fighters defected from the city. They left through humanitarian corridors, having changed into “civilian clothes.” Now the deserters are moving in small groups in the Zaporozhzhye direction.

Mizintsev warned international organizations (UN, OSCE, Red Cross, etc.) as well as the entire civilized world on behalf of the Russian coordinating headquarters for humanitarian response in Ukraine of the danger posed by the Ukrainian gangs.

“You should expect from these odious bandits entrenched in Mariupol, distraught with hopelessness and lack of any prospects in their future fate, another crime with dire consequences for civilians and further attempts to write it all off to indiscriminate strikes of the Russian Armed Forces,” he said.

Earlier, it was reported that the Russian Defense Ministry offered Ukrainian nationalists entrenched in Mariupol to surrender. If they leave the city, the militants who laid down their arms are guaranteed life.
