Progress of the liberation of Ukraine. Rossa Primavera News Agency's report. March 16 (5:00 pm)

Rossa Primavera News Agency publishes a summary of events in Ukraine on March 16 (5:00 p.m.).

During the day, aviation and air defense system of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down: two Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft near Chernigov, one MiG-29 near Novaya Bykovka, as well as four unmanned aerial vehicles.

The aircraft hit 128 Ukrainian military facilities. Among them: one Buk-M1 SAM system, one Osa SAM system, four detection and target radar stations, four command posts, seven weapons and ammunition depots and 68 ammunition storage facilities.

A total of 111 Ukrainian aircraft, 68 helicopters, 160 unmanned aerial vehicles, 159 surface-to-air missile systems, 1,353 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 129 multiple rocket launchers, 493 field artillery guns and mortars, and 1,096 items of special military vehicle equipment have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation.

Vinnitsa residents report a strike on the city’s TV mast and the cessation of TV broadcasting in the city.

Kiev direction

In the morning, the Russian Armed Forces continued strikes against military industrial facilities in Kiev, and outbreaks of fires are being reported. One of the targets is the Scientific production association Kiev Automation Plant. The company manufactured hydraulic instruments and other control system components for the needs of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.

To the east of Kiev, according to preliminary information, Russian troops have taken the road fork between Brovary and Borispol under their control.

Kharkov direction

Kharkov residents report a strike at the intersection of Akademika Pavlova Street and Geroev Truda Street in the northeast of the city, where two checkpoints of the territorial defense battalions were located.

Combat is underway in Izyum: the Russian army firmly controls the north of the city, but combat continues in the south. At the same time, combat continues south of Izyum near Barvenkovo and Svyatogorsk.

Another facility associated with US programs on researching potentially dangerous strains and pathogens of potentially dangerous diseases was discovered near Kharkov. Two buildings of a camouflaged biolaboratory are located in the forest near Merefa.

Zaporozhzhye direction

The Zaporozhzhye-2 station was damaged by shelling. The damage is not typical of a rocket attack.

Southern direction

A satellite image of Kherson airfield near Chernobaevka allegedly after yesterday’s shelling by the Ukrainian army was published. The image shows three burning helicopters and several smoking fuel tankers. Information later emerged that the images published by CNN were dated March 7, when there was still no full control of the Kherson region.

The National Guard of Russia took the Kakhovskaya HPP under guard, the Ukrainian side surrendered it without a fight, and the local paramilitary guards laid down their weapons and dispersed to their homes.

A Pentagon spokesman reported that Russian landing ships were observed in the northern part of the Black Sea, near Odessa, but the USA does not yet see signs of an imminent landing in Odessa.

Photos of the Ukrainian army’s armored vehicles in residential areas of Odessa have appeared on the web. Two tanks and BMP-2s are located in the historical buildings of the city. Also, local sources report that the territorial defense battalions are deployed in the Mariinsky gymnasium, the children’s and youth school of the Olympic reserve and in the building on the Fontanskaya road.

The speaker of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, said that all the railroad tracks that once connected Crimea and the Kherson region and were destroyed by Ukraine will be completely reconstructed.

Liberation of the LPR and DPR

Units of the DPR have entrenched themselves on the eastern outskirts of Rubezhnoye. Severodonetsk is surrounded from three sides.

Combat continues near Popasnaya, Ugledar, Mariinka and Avdeevka.

Russian units are attempting to advance south of Izyum. The northern part of the city is controlled by the Russian Armed Forces, while the southern part is still occupied by the Ukrainian army.

More than 20,000 volunteers, including those from the United States, have applied to participate in the operation in Donbass on the side of the DPR – Pushilin.

Mariupol

Over the past 24 hours, from 08:00 a.m. on March 15 to 08:00 a.m. on March 16, 312 people, including 88 children, were evacuated from Mariupol and settlements in its suburban area to Bezymennoye in the Novoazovsky district. The Red Cross office left Mariupol.

It is reported that the entire area between Vinogradny and the territory of the Azovstal plant has become an area of combat operations. Russian UAVs and artillery are attacking the nationalists.

According to local sources, units of the Russian Armed Forces and the DPR People’s Militia are advancing on the west bank of Mariupol toward the center of the city. Residents spotted Allied forces’ armored vehicles on the streets of Microdistricts 17, 20 and 23. A stronghold was deployed near the building of the Police Academy on Stroiteley Avenue.

On the territory of Azovstal, where Russian units broke through from the northeast yesterday, persistent combat continues.

The Russian Defense Ministry published the second in a row video of the Inokhodets UAV during a special operation in Ukraine. Armored vehicles on the northwestern and eastern outskirts of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol were hit. For the strike, the Kornet-D family of anti-tank guided missile launchers was used, specially selected for drone strikes.

Nazis of Azov (organization banned in the Russian Federation) battalion recorded a video message from Mariupol to Ukrainians around the world asking them to “save them” by taking to the streets of their cities.

According to unconfirmed information from a captured Azov fighter (organization banned in Russia), the headquarters of the Ukrainian fighters is located in the Mariupol Drama Theater in the basement, and the theater lobby is completely packed with peaceful people, who are guarded by 12 fighters of the Azov regiment (organization banned in Russia) so they do not run away. A few days ago, there was already information from Mariupol residents that Nazis were driving people to the Drama Theater.

The situation in the republics

Over the past 24 hours, two civilians were killed, 11 were wounded, and 11 buildings and 13 civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged. According to the DPR People’s Militia, the enemy used Tochka-U tactical missile system, 122 mm multiple rocket launchers, 122 mm artillery, 120 mm and 82 mm mortars to fire at the territory of the DPR. Areas of 15 villages and towns of the Republic came under fire.

The republic’s communications operator, Phoenix, has installed a base station in the liberated village of Sartana, northeast of Mariupol. Work is currently underway to place base stations in Volnovakha.

Nineteen medical institutions have resumed receiving patients in the liberated areas of the DPR.

The Public Chamber and People’s Militia of the DPR brought humanitarian aid to residents of the village of Sartana near Mariupol recently liberated from the Ukrainian occupation. About 400 food kits, household chemicals and construction sheeting to enable people in the affected houses to close their windows for a while.

Donetsk

Petrovsky district was shelled. Petrovsky and partially Kirovsky districts of Donetsk were left without water supply. In Petrovsky district, a residential house was damaged and a gas pipe was damaged.

Yasinovataya

A kindergarten No. 6 in Yasinovataya was damaged by shelling. Residential buildings were damaged.

Krasny Partisan was shelled in the Yasinovatskiy district. Houses and outbuildings were damaged.

A private sector near the Zorka microdistrict in Yasinuvataya was shelled. There are hits to houses.

In Vasilievka, Yasinovatskiy district, a Ukrainian munition hit a residential house. There are people under the rubble, at least two are dead. Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the site of the shelling.

The evacuation of residents is underway, 42 people, including 17 children, were evacuated today. With the support of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, the residents were evacuated to the Russian Federation.

Gorlovka

In the morning, the villages of Mikhaylovka near Grolovka, Panteleymonovka, (the area of the canal and along the Gorlovka-Yasinovataya highway) and Golmovsky (explosions are reported in the fields on the outskirts of the village and in the area of the special school) were shelled in the morning.

The village of Bessarabka in the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka was shelled.

Information about the consequences of the shelling is being clarified.

The LPR

In the LPR, the settlements of Golubovskoye, Donetskiy, and Nizhniye Lozovoye were shelled.

The LPR received 30 new UAZ vehicles from the Chechen Republic as humanitarian aid.

Political situation

“The decision to launch a special operation in Ukraine was based on an extremely accurate assessment of the situation in the world, the slightest delay against the openly Russophobic Kiev regime would have turned into a great tragedy in the near future,” Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin stated.

Erdoğan announced that he will meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda tomorrow.

Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu arrived in Moscow, where he met with Lavrov. After the meeting, Lavrov spoke about the possibility of negotiations between Putin and Zelensky in Turkey, “We did not discuss this [with the Turkish foreign minister] specifically today, and our other representatives have touched on this topic many times when answering the question. There are no obstacles to organizing a meeting [between Putin and Zelensky], on the understanding that it won’t be a meeting for its own sake. And there will be a contact between the presidents, which will consolidate the agreements reached, which are now being worked out through the channel of the two delegations.”

All EU members except France have fallen under the USA, Lavrov said, “The peace order based on the rules it [the USA] writes and which Europe is simply ready to accept in any form. The only thing left there is essentially Emmanuel Macron, who keeps mentioning the need for strategic autonomy for the European Union. No one will allow this to happen. And all the other members of the EU have already fallen under the Americans.”

Chinese authorities are demanding that the United States ensure full transparency of US military biolaboratories, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian.

“Exact wording of items which are almost agreed upon is now being discussed in negotiations,” Lavrov.

“We will never allow Ukraine to serve as a bridgehead for aggressive actions against our country” – Putin.

“If Russian troops acted only in Donbass, it would not lead to the elimination of the threat, there would be a new front line” – Putin.

The head of Crimea Aksyonov announced a reward of 10 million rubles to whoever captures “the bastard who called and swore to kill Russian children.” Yesterday, Ukrainian TV host Fakhrudin Sharafmal publicly called for the slaughter of Russian children on air of the nationwide Ukrainian channel.

Patrushev had a telephone conversation with US National Security Advisor Sullivan, with a special focus on the situation around Ukraine. Patrushev outlined Russia’s position on the unacceptability of attempts to drag out negotiations, which Kiev is undertaking on instructions from abroad.

He called on the USA to influence Kiev to make the fastest progress in resolving the crisis diplomatically. It is noteworthy that this is the first officially confirmed talks with the USA after the start of the special operation.

Sergey Stepashin, chairman of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, said that Russia needs to withdraw from the Bologna system.

“The demilitarization of Ukraine according to the Austrian or Swedish model is discussed in the negotiations of the delegations of Moscow and Kiev” – Peskov.

Ukraine

Zelensky, in a speech to the US Congress, asked for air defense systems, including the S-300, for Ukraine.

Ukrainian border guards did not let former Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka, who wanted to leave the country posing as a father with many children, out of the country. The British  Secretary of State for Defence said that NATO would continue to supply weapons to Ukraine using different channels.

The US and NATO are sending several anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine. A high-ranking US official said these systems include the SA-8, SA-10, SA-12 and SA-14 mobile air defense systems, which have a longer range than the Stingers, enabling them to hit cruise missiles.

Biden announced that Ukraine would receive $1 billion in additional military aid.

The US could supply Ukraine with Switchblades bomber munitions to fight tanks and artillery, which are much faster than the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UAVs.

Amazon withdrew from sale T-shirts with insignia of “Azov” regiment (organization banned in Russia).

Pfizer announced that it was not going to cease business in Russia.

Samsung Pay said that it continues to work in Russia using “Mir” cards without restrictions.

BMW and Volkswagen suspend factories in Europe due to the shortage of spare parts imported from Ukraine.

Japan, following the United States, Canada and the EU, announced that Russia had been stripped of its most-favored-nation status (which would allow it to raise duties on all Russian goods).

Moldova joined the anti-Russian sanctions.

President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Maurer said that he had arrived in Kiev and was going to talk to the local population and authorities.
