About ten people were injured after a Tochka-U strike in the downtown Makeevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, RIA Novosti reported on March 15, citing an emergency services representative.
“At the moment there is information that about ten people were wounded. There are no killed persons for the moment. This information is preliminary,” the source said.
Earlier, the republic’s Ministry of Health reported that two children – a 10-year-old girl with nonpenetrating eye trauma and a 16-year-old boy with multiple shrapnel wounds on his face – were injured after a Tochka-U strike.
Earlier, the DPR representative to the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) reported that the Ukrainian military used the Tochka-U tactical missile system to attack Makeevka.
The DPR territorial defense headquarters reported that air defense systems intercepted the Tochka-U missile and debris fell in a Makiivka neighborhood. Near the epicenter of the explosion, there was a fire in two stores, windows in nearby houses were broken, the representative noted.
On March 14, Donetsk Mayor Aleksey Kulemzin reported that a Tochka-U missile fired by the Ukrainian military was shot down over the city. The missile had a warhead with cluster munitions, and 20 people were killed as a result of the explosion. The DPR authorities said they had established the names of those responsible for the attack on Donetsk.
