Lavrov: Zelensky was lying when signing agreements with representatives of Donbass

02.03.2022, Moscow.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy’s promises to bring order to the country have turned out to be “lies”, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said, the Al-Jazeera TV channel reported on March 2.

As Lavrov noted, Zelensky has done nothing to stop the “bloody war against his own people.”

“He essentially lied by promising to bring order when he signed numerous agreements with representatives of Donbass. He violated them [the Minsk agreements] at a moment’s notice,” Lavrov said.

He added that Russia had been appealing to the conscience of the West and Kiev for eight years, but Ukraine was increasingly acquiring “all the outlines of an ultra-radical and neo-Nazi” state.

On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to denazify Ukraine and liberate Donbass. The Russian Armed Forces are striking exclusively at Ukrainian military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops.
