Russian President discusses the Ukrainian situation with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi

Russian leader Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Ukraine in a telephone conversation with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Kremlin Press Service reports on March 1.

“Vladimir Putin explained in detail the reasons, goals and objectives of the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass. In turn, Mohammed Al Nahyan stated Russia’s right to ensure its national security,” the statement said.

According to the statement, Vladimir Putin and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will continue cooperation and contacts at various levels.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a special operation to protect the people of Donbass and force Ukraine to peace.

The situation in Donbass has aggravated sharply more than a week ago. The Army of Ukraine began regular massive shelling of the positions of the People’s Militia and villages along the entire front line. The Armed Forces of Ukraine moved heavy equipment and artillery to the contact line.

On the territory of the DPR and LPR, there have already been several sabotages and assassination attempts on the commanders of the People’s Militia. In Lugansk, after the explosion of a gas pipeline, 2/3 of the city’s residents were left without gas. Ukrainian troops are performing the targeted shelling of civilian infrastructure. In particular, in Lugansk, the water supply was interrupted after the destruction of pipelines at a filtration station.
