Putin reminds of the lessons of Nazi Germany’s perfidious attack on the USSR

24.02.2022, Moscow.

Russia seeks to avoid a treacherous attack similar to the attack of Nazi Germany on the USSR on June 22, 1941. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this in an urgent address to Russian citizens on February 24.

The leader of state said that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in Donbas.

On the eve of the day, the heads of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushylin and Lugansk People’s Republic Leonid Pasechnik addressed the leader of Russia with a request for assistance in repelling the aggression by the armed forces of Kiev to prevent the death of civilians of Donbass.

“Russia will not allow itself to be caught off guard, as it was on June 22, 1941,” the Russian president said.

Putin pointed to the lack of independence of Ukraine’s policy. The leader of the state said that Russia’s actions are not about infringing on the interests of a neighboring state. It is about protecting Ukraine from those who have taken this country “hostage.” He pointed out that Kiev’s attack on Crimea and Donbass is only a matter of time for Kiev, which aspires to possess nuclear weapons.

Putin said that Russia would not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.
