Kurginyan: Key to the war is in the US’ hands

13.02.2022, Moscow.

Russia can allow neither a massacre in Donbass, nor deployment of offensive systems in Kharkov or Dnepropetrovsk, and the US knows this, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in an interview to the ONT Belarusian channel.

The US authorities can put Russia in a situation when it would have to react. There is a soft and a hard way to do this.

Firstly, if the Ukrainian army starts an offensive against Donbass, Russia will simply have to react, both because it is worried about Donbass, and because it cannot afford a political crisis before the presidential elections of 2024.

“The hard way is simple: push Ukraine to actually attack Donbass and start a massacre there using its nationalist battalions, etc. The political authorities would not tolerate this,” Kurginyan said.

“This would be unacceptable for the current main centrist wing, this would be unacceptable for the conservatives, and even for the liberals, any sorts of them, who are part of the Russian authorities; they would not tolerate a massacre unfolding in front of the whole world and their Russian compatriots,” he explained.

“It (Russia) would have no choice but to respond,” Kurginyan stressed.

Secondly, if US and NATO offensive systems are deployed in Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk, this would mean Russia’s defeat in the great strategic nuclear game, which it cannot allow to happen, because this is incompatible with its life.

Thus, the US can use either of these two ways to make Russia react.

“Therefore, they know that they have two cards in their hands: they can initiate a war in Donbass (repressions, essentially genocide) or they can deploy such types of nuclear weapons that we would have to react,” Kurginyan explained.

“They know what they are arranging, and they know that they hold the key to war,” he stressed.

Knowing that they can make Russia react any time, the US and the West in general are preparing public opinion to the idea that the Russians will attack any moment. This is how Kurginyan explained the meaning of the unprecedented information campaign in the Western media.
