Kurginyan: The late USSR discarded its own strategic research

10.10.2021, Moscow.

The process of discarding original strategic know-how began in the Soviet Union in the 1970-1980s, and this process continued in the Russian Federation, said political scientist, philosopher, leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in the program The Meaning of the Game.

He recalled that a treatment for coronavirus was created in Russia in 1997, which showed good results on animals. This medicine was clinically tested in Belarus. Russian authorities are considering using it to treat people who suffer from COVID-19.

“…original domestic strategic research already began to be discarded in the Soviet era. This also concerned problems of  strategic economic planning <…> and original domestic developments in the field of computers,” he said.

According to the analyst, the same was true for psychology, pedagogy, philosophy and other disciplines.

Most often the figure of Yury Vladimirovich Andropov was mentioned. I do not have any personal exclusive information on the subject. So I simply cite the opinion of those who in that distant era never in my memory gave unreliable information,” the political scientist added.

Kurginyan noted that in the 1990s, original research was immediately taken away by representatives of foreign countries and this know-how was declared foreign.

Original domestic experience was eliminated rather fanatically,” he stressed.
