Expert: Turkey is preparing for war in Idlib

02.10.2021, Damascus.

Russia should expect an armed confrontation with Turkey in Idlib, Russian military correspondent in Syria Oleg Blokhin wrote his Telegram channel on October 2.

“Should we expect an armed confrontation with the Turks? Of course, we should. And always,” Blokhin said. According to the military correspondent, the clash with Turkey can be postponed, but it should still be prepared for.

“It can be postponed, not provoked, not inflamed, but one should always expect and prepare for it, as long as there is this situation,” Blokhin noted. According to him, the Turkish side is already preparing for the clash.

“As soon as they start openly provoking, one can consider it has ‘started’,” Blokhin concluded.

Bloomberg reported on September 22 that Turkey has sent additional troops to Idlib in Syria. According to the newspaper, more than four thousand soldiers and 300 armored vehicles were sent to Syria.

On September 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Erdogan met in Sochi. The heads of state discussed the situation in Syria and other issues of bilateral relations.
