Putin discusses situation in Nagorno-Karabakh with Pashinian by phone

Russian President Vladimir Putin and acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh in a telephone conversation. The results of the conversation were published by the Kremlin press service on July 22.

The report says that the conversation on the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh discussed, in particular, the removal of obstacles to transport and economic ties in the region.

At the same time, they discussed current topics of cooperation between Russia and Armenia in trade, economic, energy, humanitarian and other directions. The parties agreed to maintain contacts on those issues at various levels.

Recall that on July 20 in Moscow Vladimir Putin met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The leaders also discussed the situation in the South Caucasus. Putin thanked Aliyev for the compromises made to stabilize the situation in the region.
