Syrian air defense systems repel an Israeli missile attack

The Syrian air defense systems repelled an Israeli missile attack near al-Safir in Aleppo province, REGNUM news agency informed on July 20, citing the press service of the Syrian Arab Republic’s Ministry of Defense.

The press release read that the air defense systems managed to repel the majority of the fired missiles. It is not specified about casualties and destruction in the area of the Israeli missile attack.

The Israeli Air Force carried out the last missile attack on the Syrian capital Damascus on June 9. The Syrian anti-aircraft systems also repelled attack.

On June 27, Israeli Ambassador to Russia Yitzhak Ben-Zvi explained the Israeli aggression in Syria as a threat to Israeli security from the Iranian-backed military units in Syria.
